Thanks Uncle Sean and Tia Sarah!

Uncle Sean and Tia Sarah gave the kiddos these cool skateboards with only TWO wheels. Yeah. I tried and fell off. The kids are having much better luck at it than I had. : )

Someone needs to get a grip.

My bro-in-law (though I like to think of him as my own brother) and his wife (though I like to think of her as my own sister--ok, I know what that sounds like, but you know I don't mean anything weird by it! Sheesh) welcomed their first child into the world Saturday morning.
My baby nephew is beautiful. That's right. I said beautiful. For a boy. What're you going to do about it? It fits him perfectly.
I cannot wait to see him in person and to hug him and kiss him and to just love on him.
This baby has been very emotional for me, and I am not even his mom! When they told us they were pregnant I cried for a week. Seriously. I was that excited. And a little heartbroken. Knowing I wouldn't get to see my sis as she grew and feel the baby move inside her, and won't be close enough to see him as often as I would like once he is born...
And then at Easter my sister in law sent us a card with an ultrasound pic and the card read "Hi Buckners! I wanted to wish you a Happy Easter and let you know I'm excited to meet you. Love Baby Buckner"
Yeah.
That one did me in all over again. I cried on and off about that one for a few days.
I know. I am a total weenie.
And today I cried when I saw the baby pics. And just now I cried when my brother told me that he just loves him. Just loves him so completely. And can't wait to see him grow, and go fishing with him, and hiking with him, and...well, I didn't really hear much else, because I was crying so hard.
What a boob.

From the mouths of babes

E: (to daddy) Daddy, you don't look like your dad. Because you don't have a mustache.
Buck: I don't?
E: When your daddy was a baby, did he have a mustache?

and

Three nights ago, as we were reading scriptures Miss E had a hard time sitting still and listening. What I usually do is read a few words, then she repeats them, and I read a few more, etc., until we get to the end of the scripture we are reading. So that night we were reading where Abinadi is teaching the priests of Noah about the 10 commandments.

Mommy: E, 'thou shalt not kill'
E: (reluctantly) O...Kayyy...

So we will have to watch that one...
Buck says we should just be glad that she agreed!

For everyone...two great stories!

I got this in an email so I had to share it.

This one is longer, but also worth it.

Well, he's certainly not MY kid...

...because what child of MINE wouldn't love chocolate cake with chocolate frosting? I mean, really.

Oh. Wait. I believe they all reacted in pretty much the same way, didn't they? Oh, so, yeah, I guess J IS my kid...
He decided to opt out of eating the cake and went for the ice cream. He takes after his dad...as if looking like him isn't enough.
His favorite gift was the flippy fisher price thing that every baby has...yet this is the first time I've ever had one for my kids. Weird, huh? What kind of parent....

Happy Birthday to my handsome little stinker! Or, as E calls him "Naked Stinky Butt Boy"

Mother's Day Makeover

I just had to share these pictures
of the b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l makeover my darlings S and E gave me this morning....
after my shower...
Should I go to church like this? I'm seriously considering...

In case you are having trouble seeing it, I have one pink hand, one purple hand, blue and pink lipstick, blue and purple cream eyeshadow, and glitter on my forehead and in my hair.
I am one hot mama!

Macabre Playtime

Don't ask me why...but this fall they decided to pretend that they were dead and buried in the leaves. Here is C weeping over S's body. And E is showing her remorse by dancing on a table. Hey, we all grieve in our own way, people.
Here is a close-up of S in the leaves. Now it is S's turn to grieve. Very dramatic.
What a fun time they had playing. Now tell me, is it really weird that they found so much amusement in this activity?

Oh, and aren't they so cute?!?
